Today’s modern world is heading to become a global knowledge society. The academic community plays a crucial role in transforming the global society as knowledge society. As the knowledge providing centers, in educational institutions, the role of Libraries is essential in transforming a faculty or a student or a research scholar or the institutions on the whole into Knowledge Intellectual Properties. The recent trends in the innovations of information technology and the changing learning environment have high impact on the academic library system globally. The libraries as the hub of knowledge in academia, acquires and disseminate the multimedia knowledge resources among the stack holders. The libraries should understand how the academic community is being transformed and thus transform them selves, so as to keep phase with changing global academic phenomenon. Realising the importance of the need for transformation of academic libraries, the Vankatram Learning Centre of Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology, collaborating with Academic Library Association is organizing this international conference titled ‘Transforming Academic Libraries: Vision 2030’, so as to meet the futuristic knowledge needs in accordance with changing global academic knowledge requirements. The international conference gives a platform for global library professionals, knowledge leaders, information experts, multimedia knowledge resource publishers academicians, policy makers etc., to come together on a common platform and to discuss, debate and have micro analysis on the various issues found from conventional libraries to most modern library systems and to declare the Vision 2030 that will be instrumental in transforming global academic library systems.
