Director's Profile

Dr. C. Suresh Kumar, Director of Physical Education

Has completed his M.PED Degree from Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai, M.Phil from Alagappa University, Karaikudi, M.A from Annamalai University, Chidambaram. Ph.D from Bharathiar University; Coimbatore. He has 15 years of experience in both Arts and Engineering Colleges. He has written a book titled “Introduction to yoga” He has presented three papers in UGC sponsored National Seminar. He is also a life member of ISTE.

He is the Tamil Nadu State Qualified official in Athletics and Hand Ball. His area of interest includes Scientific Yoga, Sports Psychology, Bio Mechanism, and Sports Management. His additional qualifications are DSYM (Diploma In Scientific Yoga and Meditation) and NIS (Volley Ball)

 

 

Sports Complex Facilities

Swami Vivekananda mentioned that playing sports is also a form of meditation. Sports require high level of concentration. It helps to keep fit and create a fire within to succeed. Upon all these things, it develops a sportive spirit in the personality, which helps one to lead his life in a great way

Our college has excellent infrastructure required for development of sports skills in students such as volleyball court, basket ball court, table tennis room, carom room, chess room, ball badminton court, football field, cricket ground, cricket nets for practice. To enhance athletic talents of students, we have 400 mts standard track with 8 lanes.  The above facilities have been made at a cost of nearly 20 lakhs in an area of 7.5 acres

Sports Achievement 2009-10

• Our College Volley Ball Team for Men has secured Winners in 6th KCT Sports Fest-09 Inter Engineering Volley Ball Tournament held at Kumaraguru College of Technology, Coimbatore on 24-07-2009 and 25-07-2009

• Our College Table Tennis Team for Women has secured Winners in 6th KCT Sports Fest-09 Inter Engineering Volley Ball Tournament held at Kumaraguru College of Technology, Coimbatore on 24-07-2009 and 25-07-2009. .

• Our College Volley Ball Team for Men has secured Winners in Anna University Intercollegiate Volley Ball Tournament held at our college from 25-08-2009 to 26-08-2009

• Anna University Coimbatore Zone Intercollegiate Volley Ball Tournament for men was organized by our college on 25-08-2009 to 26-08-2009.Our College Volley Ball Team was the winners and P.S.G College of Technology, Coimbatore was the runners-up. Mr.V.C.Ramalingam, Former International Player, Indian Volleyball Team was the Chief Guest and distributed the prizes to the winners and our Principal Presided over the function.

• Our College Tennis Team for Men has secured Winners in Anna University Coimbatore Zone Intercollegiate Tennis Tournament for men held at Kongu Engineering College on 29-09-2009 and 30-09-2009.

• Azhagu Shanmugam.A.P of IV BE Mechnical Engineering has secured Gold Medal in the Decathlon Event in the Anna University Coimbatore Zone Inter collegiate Athletic meet held at Coimbatore Institute of Technology, Coimbatore from 06-10-2009 and 09-10-2009.

•  Azhagu Shanmugam.A.P of IV BE Mechnical Engineering has secured Gold Medal in the Triple Jump Event in the Anna University Coimbatore Zone Inter collegiate Athletic meet held at Coimbatore Institute of Technology, Coimbatore from 06-10-2009 and 09-10-2009

  • Ms.Shanmugapriya.N of III MSc Software Engineering has been selected to represent in Coimbatore district Karate team, selection trails held at Coimbatore District Karate Association on 29-08-2009.

• Our College Volley Ball Team for Men has secured Runners Up in CENTIES-2010 Intercollegiate Volley Ball Tournament held at Tamilnadu College of Engineering from 22-01-2010 to 25-01-2010.

•  Our College Table Tennis Team for men has secured Winners in KCT Rotract Club Inter Engineering Table Tennis Tournament held at Kumaraguru College of Technology on 02-02-2010 and 03-02-2010.

• Our College Volley Ball Team for men has secured Runners Up in CENTIES-2010 Inter Engineering Volley Ball Tournament held at TamilNadu College of Engineering from 22-01-2010 to 24-01-2010. .

•  Our College Volley Ball Team for men has secured Winners in Sri Krishna Trophy Inter Engineering Volley Ball Tournament held at our college on 05-02-2010 & 06-02-2010.

• Our College Table Tennis Team for men has secured Winners in Sri Krishna Trophy Inter Engineering Table Tennis Tournament held at our college on 05-02-2010 & 06-02-2010.

•  Our College Volley Ball Team for women has secured Runners Up in Sri Krishna Trophy Inter Engineering Volley Ball Tournament held at our college on 05-02-2010 & 06-02-2010.

• Our College Table Tennis Team for women has secured Runners Up in Sri Krishna Trophy Inter Engineering Table Tennis Tournament held at our college on 05-02-2010 & 06-02-2010.

•  Ganga Narayanan.K of III BE EEE has secured Silver Medal in the Tamil Nadu Inter Engineering Sports (TIES-2010) Best Physique Competition(above 90 category) held at PSNA College of Engineering and Technology on 26-02-2010.

• Our College Foot Ball Team for men has secured Third Place in CIT Trophy Inter Engineering Foot Ball Tournament held at Coimbatore Institute of Technology, Coimbatore on 16-03-2010 & 17-03-2010.

•  Our College Tennis Team for Men has secured Third Place in Anna University Coimbatore, Zone II Intercollegiate Tennis Tournament for men held at Kumaraguru College of Technology, Coimatore on 11-03-2010 and 12-03-2010.

• Our College Table Tennis Team for Women has secured Runners Up in Anna University Coimbatore, Zone 2 Intercollegiate Table Tennis Tournament for women held at Hindusthan Institute Technology, Coimbatore on 15-03-2010.

•  Our College Table Tennis Team for Men has secured Runners Up in Anna University Coimbatore, Zone 2 Intercollegiate Table Tennis Tournament for Men held at Hindusthan College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore on 15-03-2010.

• Anna University Coimbatore, Zone II Intercollegiate Volley Ball Tournament for women was organized by our college on 22-03-2010 to 23-03-2010. Government College of Technology, Coimbatore was the winners and Sri Ramakrishna engineering College, Coimbatore was the runners-up. Dr.K.Sundraraman , Principal ,Sri Krishna Arts and Science College was the Chief Guest and distributed the prizes to the winners and our Principal Presided over the function.

•  Our College Athletics Team for Men & Women has secured Five Silver Models and Six Bronze Models in Anna University Coimbatore, Zone 2 Intercollegiate athletics meet for men and women held at Government College of Technology, Coimbatore on 01-04-2010 and 02-04-2010.
