CURRICULUM AND SYLLABI
The students of Mechanical Engineering learn both the basic and advanced topics in all areas of Mechanical Engineering like applied mechanics, theory of machines, hydraulic and pneumatic machines, thermal and heat transfer, CAD/CAM, refrigeration and air-conditioning. The students are given thorough training on various laboratories / workshops to have hands on experience

DEAN's profile
Dr.R.Srivatsavan had his BE in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Madras, ME in Machine Design from IISc, Bangalore and PhD in Fatigue from the University of Madras.
He has 39 years of experience in Mechanical and Production Engineering. He was Dean of Mechanical and Production Engineering and also Dean of Academic Programmes at PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore. He was the head of UG & PG Department for 6 years at PSG College of Technology and guided number of ME and Ph.D. projects.
His Research Interests are Concurrent Engineering, CAD, FEA, Fracture Mechanics, Vibrations and Fatigue. He has written many books and monograph to his credit.

Director's profile
Dr.PR.Thiyagarajan holds PG Degree and PhD from University of Madras. He has 38 years of experience in Teaching, Research and Administration. He has formerly served in the Dept. of Mechanical Engineering at PSG Tech and rose to the position of HOD. He held the post of Principal ship at Tamilnadu College of Engineering before taking up the post of Director (R&D) at Kumaraguru College of Technology.
His area of interest includes Fluid Machinery, Thermal Machines and Heat Transfer.
Head of the department 's profile
Prof.K.S.Lakshmanan is with Sri Krishna college of Engineering and Technology since 15th Dec 2006.He obtained his B.Tech degree in Production Technology from Madras Institute of Technology,Chennai and further did his M.Tech in Machine Design from IIT, Chennai. He was earlier with Defense Research and Development Organisation(DRDO) for 22 years, where he got elevated to the level of Joint Director in Vehicle Research and Development Establishment (VRDE) of DRDO. The best form of recognition came to him when he was awarded the'' LABORATORY SCIENTIST OF THE YEAR'' in 2004 for the design and development of non linear characteristic HYDRO GAS SUSPENSION system for an Infantry Combat Vehicle (ICV). He was very close to academics even when he was with DRDO. The proof: he was visiting Professor for Indian Armament Technology (IAT)- Pune Institute of Engineers-Ahmednagar chapter and Kopargaon Engineering College, Kopa. He has also presented many technical papers in various conferences and his area of expertise includes Machine Design and Vehicular Technology.
