DEAN's profile

Dr. V. SubbiahDr. V. Subbiah obtained his BE (Electrical) degree from Madras University in 1965, ME (Control Systems) from Calcutta University in 1968 and PhD (Power Electronics) from Madras University in 1981.

He has been associated with Technical Education for more than three decades. He worked at PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, India in various capacities. He started his career as a Lecturer in Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 1969 and rose to the position of Professor in 1984 and then the Head of the Department in 1995. He retired from PSG College of Technology in May 2000. Then, he joined the Faculty of Engineering, Multimedia University, Malaysia in June 2000 on a contract appointment for two years. After returning to India, he joined Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology in August 2002 as the Dean of Electrical Sciences.

Dr Subbiah has taught undergraduate as well as postgraduate courses for nearly 40 years. He has guided a large number of undergraduate and nearly 50 postgraduate projects. He has also guided four PhD scholars in the area of Power Electronics and Drives. He has published / presented around 60 papers in National and International Journals / Conferences.

He has organized many Short Courses for Engineering College Teachers and Practicing Engineers both in India and Malaysia. He has carried out a few projects funded by AICTE and UGC while serving at PSG College of Technology. He was the Chairman of the Coimbatore Local Center of the Institution of Engineers (India) from 1998 to 2000. He was also the Chairman of the PSG Tech Chapter of ISTE from 19995 to 1998. He received the ‘Outstanding Corporate Fellow Member Award 2002’ from the
Institution of Engineers (India), Coimbatore Local Centre in November 2002.

Dr Subbiah is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (India), Senior Member of IEEE and Life Member of ISTE. His area of interest includes Power Electronics, Electrical Drives and Control Systems.

Prof Muthuraman RamasamyProf Muthuraman Ramasamy heads the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering.

Prof Muthuraman Ramasamy completed B.E (ECE) from A.C College of Engineering and Technology, Karaikudi, Madurai Kamaraj University 1972. Completed M.E (Communication Systems), PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, Madras University, 1977. Started the career as private consultant for developing electronic equipments and later worked as a faculty in the department of ECE at Regional Engineering College, Trichy. Moved to the Industry during 1979 worked with the Hewlett Packard test and measuring instruments division for Kerala regions. Was Associated with M/S Photo center, Sultanate of Oman as the technical chief of the company including technical and administrative affairs of the company.

Joined Kumaraguru College of Technology 1987 as Assistant Professor in the department of Computer science and Engineering. Later in the year 1995, took the responsibility of Prof and Head, Department of Electronic and communication engineering and developed the department till April 2004.

Having a total experience of more than 29 years as on date with 19 years in collegiate teaching and 10 years with industries out of which four years of Abroad. Received technical training from industrial giants like Hewlett Packard, USA at their Paris, France training divisions and at their Cairo, Egypt special training divisions.
