Facilities
The department consists of six well equipped laboratories. Each contains latest P-IV Pentium Systems supporting laboratory work. The laboratories are well equipped with a large collection of software like Rational Rose, Visual studio .NET etc., The department has established an intranet named NETROVER on which the faculty hosts tutorials, assignments, class tests, additional learning materials, e-books and online aptitude tests for training the students for better placement opportunities
Dean’s Profile
Dr.Ilango Krishnamurthi, graduated from BITS, Pilani and then Iowa State University, USA both in the field of Computer Science & Engineering. He then earned his doctorate degree in Computer Science & Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai.
Dr.Ilango has been teaching Computer Science & Engineering since the year 1988. He spent 15 years at NIT, Trichirapalli in the capacities of Lecturer, Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the part time B.Tech programme. Since October 2005, he is with SKCET as professor and then HOD since July 2006. Since June 2008 he has been promoted as Dean, CSE Department.
He has published 18 research papers in National, International journals and conferences. His current research interests are in the areas of semantic web and data mining. Dr.Ilango is currently guiding ten students towards their doctorate degrees.
HOD-UG’s Profile
Dr. G.Kousalya has obtained her Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from College of Engineering, Anna University, Chennai. Her area of specialization are wireless networks and Object oriented Analysis and Design. She has 4 years of industrial experience and 16 years of teaching experience.
She has organized AICTE sponsored short term courses for engineering college teachers.. She is a member of ACM (USA) and IEICE (Japan). She is involved in various activities of ACM student chapter. She is a reviewer of Elsevier Journal on Computer Communication.
She has published 15 papers in the International Journals / Conferences and has also attended many Conferences. Her area of interest includes Ubiquitous Computing and Pervasive Computing.
HOD-PG’s Profile
Prof.N.K.Karthikeyan, had his B.E. in Electronics and Communication and then his M.E. Computer Science and Engineering from Kongu Engineering College, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. He has more than 21 years of teaching experience.
He has to his credit 3 books and more than 20 technical papers/articles in national and international proceedings and journals. He has conducted 4 National Level AICTE and other sponsored programmes in the areas of Computer Networks, GSM, GPRS and 3G networks. He has also conducted 2 Anna University sponsored FDP programmes in the areas of Computer Networks and Mobile Computing. He also received CSI R&D research fund for his project in the year 2006-2007.
He is a reviewer of book on Data Communications and Networks. He has presented a technical paper in the IEEE International Conference on Computational Intelligence System (CIS) held at Thailand in the year 2006. He is an active Management Committee member of Computer Society of India, Coimbatore chapter. He is involved with various activities of CSI chapter of Coimbatore since 2004.
His areas of interest are Mobile computing, Optimization and soft computing. He is now working towards his Ph.D., at Anna University, Chennai in the area of Mobile Networks.
